Little CA Vacation

Debie is visiting Peggy. She flew into San Jose. The next day we drove up to the Petaluma area to be in place for a cob ( sand, clay, straw) oven building workshop which Debs had signed us up for. Though we had fun, the structure came tumbling down late in the second day and it was too late for us to start again...leaving the homeowners and workshop leader with a bit of a mess. PS Don't take out the supports for your oven too soon...as our leader did.

Today, we did a 12-hour day touring. We had a morning 3+ hour tour at 'Safari West' just outside of Santa Rosa. Our guides and the general feel of the wildlife exhibits were wonderful! The Safari jeep ride lasted about two hours and along the way we learned a lot about the animals. Debie rode shotgun with the guide and I took a turn on the upper-deck seats. My personal favorites were the giraffes (12 or so), Debie's favorites were the bird avary (the bird who goes in the crocodile's mouth) and the Serval cat. We then drove to Point Reyes, aiming for the lighthouse. When we finally got near, it was very foggy. We walked uphill on a path for a long way before we got to the signs that said "Continuing to the lighthouse will be going down the equilivant of 30 stories of stairs and of returning up the same. Well, I was done. Not Debie, she zipped down and back, mercy! More fun to come.

if I don't feel good...

Another interesting thing that happens when one had defied the odds, and recovered from the 'unrecoverable, is when a few days come with another health challenge, not to go into fear that 'it's back!", but to stay in the breath of life, where there is all knowledge and the healing comes from the meditation, the encounters, the givingness so everpresent in everyone. Gratitude again(you all tired of the word, yet?)

Gift from Deb

In Debie's e-mail list, I somehow became listed as 'peggy O'. When I laughed and asked Debie if that was like 'Jackie O', she said... if you think that's funny, wait til you get the version from UPS calling you 'Raggy'. A nice hint that something was in the mail... and a funny new name.

She arrived. I am thankful to Debie for giving me one of her 'Earth Mothers' ! They are my favorites as they are kind of a signature piece and remind me of Debie the most. Having a piece of Debie's art here at home feels like having a little piece of Debie near me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you !
This is just a physical reminded of Debie's many gifts to me.

The 'Mother Earth' at first didn't want to leave the inside of the house; then she tried sitting on a table on the patio (could see her going in and out); then she spotted the center of the garden (could be seen going in and out and from the kitchen); plus she felt more at home in nature. WOW ! Perfect !
Love, Raggy

bits and pieces

I sent Peggy her favorite sculpture. The ups label said "raggy Prazma", guess she walked around in the pink robe and black socks and shoes too many times, reputation made! Dr. Hatt, well it was time to see him and talk about his reaction in December to coughing up blood(which was, oh, it is probably only a broken blood vessel)..and I hoped to get my painful rib fixed, but he thinks, because it did not fix, it is a possible pulmonary embolism....ich, what next. Dr. Hatt, I think felt confronted but he did look at the blogspot, and he did apologize, I appreciate a practitioner who can see errors, including myself. I will be far more serious about everybodies symptoms. I was in expectation of an easy road, but not yet.... Ann Kim kindly did some wonderful massage, followed by Dr. Quell putting rib back in, but to no avail, pain wise. I just returned from Dr. Pau in Boulder, lots of herbs to cook and a little more relief. I feel so grateful to know that help is all around me and glad to have enough money to pay for what I need. Being with Bart for coffee was a good thing. It gave me a chance to remember that he, too is deeply in my heart, and that he gave me the great gift of being with me even though the head swelling/tumors caused me to act out. I got to say thank you to him. I also feel some grace and forgiveness of myself over the acting out in regard to brain swelling and tumors.
